Mundan Sanskar is one of the sixteen sacred rites in Hinduism. Other names for this rite are Chaul Mundan, Jadula, Chura Karma, or Chaul Karma Sanskar. Mundan Sanskar got an eighth-place among those 16 Sanskars and performed for the first time to shave the head of a child. Being one of the important Hindu rituals, the Mundan ceremony bestows good luck and eternal prosperity on the child.
